Among the big three U. S. pharmacy retailers, Walmart currently has the lowest prices for both Nexium and Protonix, for the medications and equipment.

The online pharmacy’s prices can bechnfolio giant and mouthwateringly fast. You can get them for $19.95 for a supply of 30, 60, 88, 502, and 800 tablets, respectively.

At the risk, not much? And just the fact that you—or your partner—is considering generic prescription medication for the treatment of frequent heartburn treatment? You’re probably thinking, “But can’t we save some money?”

Why is Generic Prescription Medication So Commonly Cost Effective?

Since its introduction in the United States in 1998, generic medication has made a name for itself in the marketplace. Nexium and Protonix work in different ways, and generic medication costs vary widely from pharmacy to pharmacy, even when it comes to brand recognition. For example, Nexium costs approximately $6.13 an hour and Protonix $2.81 an hour.

So why do retailers charge such a high price for medication like Nexium and Protonix? The answer is two-fold. First, the medications themselves are often much cheaper than the brand-name version. Second, the shelf life of the generic version is extended, allowing retailers to increase pricing without significantly increasing the cost of the brand-name version.

What Is the Price of Generic Medication?

When it comes to price, generic medications are priced accordingly. This is particularly true for these drugs because it keeps manufacturing and distribution costs under control. Walmart’s prices are exact, so they don’t fall on a price point of whether or not the medication is right for you.

The average cost for generic Nexium, for both the brand-name and generic versions, is $8.38 and for the generic version, $4.03.

So why is generic medication so commonly used in the treatment of frequent heartburn? It’s probably nothing of the sort. Generic medications are medications that are taken just enough to be effective, but not so much that they can’t be taken every day. They do have several drawbacks, though.

Pros and Cons of Prescription Medication

  • Discreet Packaging.
  • Guarded and priced by the retailer.
  • Guarding.
  • Price-sensitive nature.

If you’re considering prescription medication for your heartburn, you’ll likely come across some that are different from the way they work. These generic medications all have a few things in common: name-brand drugs and generic antacids, which contain artificial colors that mimic medications but can be harmful or ineffective. For instance, generic Zantac costs about $18.95 and generic Magnesium Delayed-Release Capsules about $5.

Difficulty In Treating Easy-to-Find Erosions

Often referred to as the Easy-to-find phenomenon, these drugs can be simply treated with a pill. This pill works by inhibiting an enzyme called cytochrome P450, which means that something goes into a drug’s system differently from what it was designed to take. This can change how it is metabolized and absorbed and how it is absorbed in the body.

Generic medications are taken just enough to make them effective but not so much that they can’t be taken every day. When you take these medications, you take the active ingredient as directed and don’t need to swallow them whole. This allows for fewer trips to the pharmacist, which is truly mind-boggling.

If you have frequent heartburn, be sure to talk to your doctor to get the medication prescribed and get a personalized care plan. Walmart’s price for Nexium is $8.38 a pill, and generic Proton-Binding SodiumChampagne is $2.79. These are all generic medications with the the generic versions taking approximately $5.64 per pill.

Cost of Generic Nexium and Protonix

When you shop online or shop at a pharmacy, you can actually save money on the generics. Nexium and Protonix are brand-name medications that were originally developed to treat arthritis. These drugs were originally intended for treating arthritis but have since gained popularity for their ease of use and effectiveness. You can get these generics from major drugstores and online retailers. The total cost of these generics varies widely, from $12.
