I have been so sick for so many years that I cannot even think of going to a doctor anymore. When I first went to see my local doctor, I was so scared that I would not have the medication. Now that I have tried to go to the doctor, I am so scared that I will not get it at home. I have been so scared that I will not go to a doctor again, even if I go to my local doctor in the future. I cannot even think of going to a doctor anymore. What are my options?

I am a 28 year old man with severe GERD, having recently started Prilosec Nexium. I am a bit curious what you guys think of Nexium. I've tried both the branded and generic versions and I've found none of them provide the same level of protection against heartburn, but that's just the sort of thing that's really bothering me. You guys are not the only ones. If you're considering taking PPIs for heartburn, you should talk to your doctor about the risks, as well as the benefits and risks. What is Reflux?

Taking this medicine • You can take your tablet at any time of the day either with food or on an empty stomach. • Swallow your tablet whole with half a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. This is because the tablet contains coated pellets, which stop the medicine from being broken down by the acid in your stomach. It is important not to damage the pellets.

Alternative method of taking this medicine• Put the tablet in a glass of still (non-fizzy) water. Do not use any other liquids. • Stir until the tablet breaks up (the mixture will not be clear) then drink the mixture straight away or within 30 minutes. Always stir the mixture just before drinking it. • To make sure that you have drunk all of the medicine, rinse the glass very well with half a glass of water and drink it. The solid pieces contain the medicine – do not chew or crush them
